Do you rotate your toddlers toys?
Doing your toy rotation in a cubby shelf behind your couch is a great way to maximize a shared space. We have a living room playroom shared space in our home. This helps keep our open floor plan still feel clean and put together even with a playroom as a part of our main living area. Choosing neutral colors for the playroom furniture also helps it blend in with the aesthetic of your home, no matter the color of the toys. White, Grey and natural wood are the colors we went with for our playroom furniture.

Why do a toy rotation? Not having all your toddlers toys out at once helps them not get overstimulated with choices and clutter. It promotes focus and will help encourage them to play with the toys you have set out.

You can also follow your toddlers lead on their interests. Put out the things they are really showing favor towards. This might be imaginary play or building blocks etc. Once you start to notice your toddler isn’t playing as long with something or seems uninterested in the toys you have out, you then know it is a good time for a new rotation.

Another great reason to do a toy rotation is so each toy has a place. This will create an easier environment not only for you to clean but to encourage your little ones to put their toys back after using them. This is such a great skill to begin teaching your kids at a young age. Make sure to follow along on TikTok for more toy rotation ideas and inspiration.
