Magic milk toddler science experiment. This is a great way to introduce your toddler to science and the world of cause and effect. Get ready to see them be amazed when these magic colors spread across the plate by the simple touch of a Q-tip. You’re going to want a turn to try too!

Supplies needed:
- Milk (Make sure it is not low fat milk) This is a great way to use milk that has expired!
- Food Coloring (Make sure it isn’t the gel)
- Q-tips
- Dish Soap- We find that dawn tends to work best in all our activities.
- Plate
Steps:
- Pour milk onto a plate and allow the milk to fully settle and stop moving.
- Once the milk is completely still add your food coloring. (Add as many drops as you would like)
- Dip the tip of a Q-tip into dish soap.
- Dip the Q-tip into the milk where you placed the food coloring.
- You will get two different results depending on how far into the milk you dip your Q-tip. Touching only the top layer of the milk will have a different result then dipping it completely to the bottom touching the plate. See below.
